I had a therapy appointment yesterday and one of the things that came out of it that we spoke about is how I am a leader, specifically, a charismatic leader and those who are charismatic leaders, tend to stand out and not fit the curve, which is good in many ways but also challenging in others.
I wrote recently about struggling with the flakiness of others or integrity of others and the truth is that is part of how our society is and that is part of how I am not. I don’t go towards conformity. I don’t jeopardize who I am to please others. So in essence because of these things, it is lonely at the top.
I mean I have struggled a lot in my life because of this. Not saying I don’t compromise, I do, but I don’t appease people, just to do something in a way that is not genuine and not true to myself. Because I am not a sheep, and am a leader and take action, people fade away if I fade away.
Well it is lonely at the top, but the people who are at the top, are happy and successful and content with who they are.
